My Little Boy Jojo lost his apetite I am not sure if my little Yorkie boy 2 yrs old is playing me or if I should take him to the Vet. When his poop was a bit loose, I put him on chicken and rice for a few days. He got better, but when I offered his regular diet again he let me know he did not want to eat. That evening I gave him his food again, did not eat so I gave him chicken and rice and he woofed it down. Today I gave his regular food, he walked away, but tonight he ate his regular food. Otherwise he has been running playing active and seems fine. I have 3 yorkies. Is he playing me? He is a tiny bit overweight, perhaps by 1 lb. He weighs 7 lbs, but should be 6. Thanks, Edie:confused: |
He might be playin' ya :). Are his poos back to normal and everything? He seems better? If yes, he might just be telling you that he prefers the real food to kibble (and who can blame him). You could mix a little chicken in realllly good w/ his kibble to make it more enticing. If the chicken portion is LESS than 15-20% of the total meal, then you don't have to really worry about throwing the supplement (and cal-phos ratio) balance out of ratio. If you homecook permanently, then you need balance. Long term, you could consider adding canned food (ie, Evangers) so he has variety, more moisture, less processed meat, more exciting food. Nothing wrong w/ that. :) |
