taste of the wild and naturves variety My dog emma is a little over a year old and she is so picky we have been feeding blue buffalo puppy to try and get weight on her. But she really doesnt like it she just eats the regular kibble and spits out the lifesource bits. So i went to the local petstore and she gave me taste of the wild salmon to try and some natures varitey frozen medailions in chicken flavor. Has any one else tried any of these? She also gave me a sample of the royal canin puppy 33. Of course i give her this kind and she loves it but i really was wanting to avoid corn because i heard it is not that good for them. ANy help would be great. Also i was thinking maybe i will feed the NV with kibble instead of just it if she likes it, or is it best to just feed NV? |
I am feeding Taste of the Wild, Pacific Stream right now. I just switched my dog because her coat was not looking very healthy, and TOTW is rated highly and is grain free, and it was one of the only six star rated foods that my local dealer carries. I also liked it because of the salmon and fish in the food so it should be a good source of Omega 3 and 6 which also helps with skin and coat. So far, I am seeing positive results. Her coat is growing and starting to show some improvement. My little girl will eat anything though so, I can't help you there. |
I've read you can't feed raw and kibble together- bad idea- forget why and I could be wrong but i'm pretty sure it is a no-no. That said- I guess i'd go raw. |

Make sure if you go with the raw that the medallions are completely thawed, and you mash it up into tiny bits. Some of them will eat it soooo fast and that can cause tummy problems. |
I feed Taste of the Wild Pacific Stream. We had lots of trouble in the past with Lilly's horrible allergies and actually being interested in her food. She loves this food and her allergies have calmed down quite a bit. |
Those are both good choices. I feed raw and think it offers much superior nutrition as compared to kibble -- so if it were me, I'd feel the medallions. Or, if you want to save a bit of money - you could feed kibble the first part of the day and raw in the evening. :) |
