Thanks nancy1999! But im actually not neutering him. His second row of teeths are grown in, I thnk?! And he's actually real good at listening and obeying my commands cause he doesn't hump. Unless told to or allowed. My vet saw him not too long ago and she didnt say anything. Should i do something?
| His teeth can be removed at anytime, some people wait till a year, but if he has a double row, I would remove them right away. Your vet probably didn't say anything, because unless a vet is familiar with the Yorkshire terrier breed, he doesn't know that most don't lose their teeth on their own.
I don't know if you have been around many unneutered male dogs, but his behavior will definitely change in the next 6 months. They go from being an 8-year-old child to a teenager in the next few months. Marking will be a problem and running away will be a serious problem. If you are planning on breeding him, of course you don't want to neuter him, but if not, neutering is a wonderful thing. By the way, if you are planning to breed, it might be a good idea to have him evaluated, and make sure he doesn't have any genetic problems he can pass to his offspring. Many people like to neuter at a younger age, before they learn to mark, because once they mark, neutering only cuts it down, it doesn't eliminate it. |
