The Honest Kitchen Has anyone tried The Honest Kitchen dehydrated food for their yorkie? I've been feeding my baby Nature's Variety raw food for almost 1 year. Last Saturday, my husband stayed home while my daughter & I went shopping. When we got home that evening my baby threw-up a couple of times. I blamed my husband since he likes to constantly give him treats. The next couple of days he ate his food because he was hungry but didn't actually want it. Yesterday, he threw-up once. He's been eating but normally he gulps his food down & he acts very happy when I'm getting his food out of the fridge. Well, today he completely refused to eat his food. I had a small sample of The Honest Kitchen dehydrated food that I got at the store. He tried it & loved it. Before I go out & buy it, I would like to hear any comments. |
Jodie (LuvMySissy) feeds the honest kitchen. Sounds like a good food to me. He is probably puking because he is inhaling his food- however- if it keeps up he should see a vet. |
There are several people on here who feed HK. I feed Nature's Variety dry, wet, and raw to my pups, and I also mix the HK with the raw medallions. Lately I have been mixing the Bravo raw food with the HK for a well balanced meal. I think it is worth it to buy it because if he gets sick of it you can mix it with other things and use it all. There are some coupons on the website. Makes it a little more affordable in my opinion. The Honest Kitchen : Service |
If you call Honest Kitchen and tell them you're considering changing foods for your furbaby....and if they can send you a sample (if theres a certain kind you want ..ask for it) . They sent me a sample when i changed food for Pasquale...although he wasnt a big fan of it. |
I tried HK -- and my guys loved it the first 2 meals, then wouldn't eat it - so make SURE you sample it for a good week before you buy the $40 bucket (like I did!). I feed NV, Primal, or a local grind. :) |
My Toto has been eating Honest Kitchen Force for several years. She loves it and her vet heartily approves after examining the ingredients, etc. I add about a heaping t. each of minced chicken breast, organic green beans and Gerber Graduates carrots along with a couple T fresh chicken broth to 1/8 c. rehydrated Force. Toto loves it! ;) |

ohh my babies go crazy for it!!!!! when they here the timer go off they go crazy! lol its a little expensive but well worth it. i always order embark because kiele has bad allergies. |
Yep - we've been feeding THK for about 2 years now. We were rotating through Force, Embark and Thrive, but due to Sissy's intestinal issues we are feeding on the Embark as she can't have chicken products. I also use Preference for her mixed with white fish or salmon (cooked, though). My girls love this food and my picky Sissy will eat this when she will eat nothing else!!!!!! The good news is that if for any reason your pup stops eating it - as long as you get it directly from THK, you can return it for a refund!!!!! |
I have try is good food, but my girls stop eating them:( |
we mostly feed Ziwi Peak & Nature's Variety.. but will sometimes feed THK to my girls. it is a really good food, in my opinion! ;) |
