Turkey Question!!! Is a small piece of turkey okay for dogs? |
Never dark meat, and no meat that has been in gravy, butter, seasonings, etc. I am too paranoid about pancreatitis to give mine any, but mine have been snacking on sweet potatos and apples all day! I know many give them small bits of the white meat, but I think I will stick with their regular food and some veggies today! Happy Thanksgiving. |
Thanks for replying. I gave mine maybe a tablespoon of turkey shreaded up in little pieces(White meat) with some green beans on the side. Hes not acting funny or anything just really hyper and excited like always:). I was just curious if any one else has ever had a bad experience with giving their dog turkey. Happy Thanksgiving !!! |
Yes, I gave My girl some white turkey meat too :D She of, course loved it, and wanted more... Not too much though, and i agree, nothing greasy or fatty given to your Yorkie ! That is way too much on their tiny bodies. |
I give mine white meat turkey every Thanksgiving |
White meat turkey is fine without the skin or any fat. Party Animal organic dog food has many turkey varieties. My girls love turkey in any form! |
i gave Romeo some white meat and now he has the runs. :( |
White meat turkey with no skin or fat is fine. |
I gave Olivia 2 little bites of turkey and she really loved it! Afterwards, Olivia (who has never barked at anything at all in the 6 weeks we have had her!) barked - she was barking at the turkey sitting on the counter! ROFL She did it 3 times...I guess she really wanted some more! :D |
Yes, all 5 of ours had a little white meat, but no gravy or any fatty stuff...I never was over protective about feeding them different meats until 2 weeks ago, Bogus got into a trash bag on the balcony that had left over Popeyes chicken in it and started throwing up to the tune of 10 times the first night and the next morning bright and early went to the Vet and sure enough he had pancreatitis!!! I felt so bad for him. Now I am a believer in not feeding them anything with alot of fat....they get just as much joy out of the veggies and fruit...Yogi has been whinning too over the turkey on the stove...he's hysterical sitting on the rug in front of the sink and the cry he makes sounds like he is singing and he has the look too.... of starvation and pity:rolleyes:, lol, he even makes his eyes water... |
