What kind of people food can dogs eat?
 
I know that dogs CANNOT have chocolate, but I would love a list of things that are ok. I have been reading on YT and saw that some puppy mommies give dried fruit, frozen fruit, yogurt, etc. What kinds of people foods do you feed your babies?

In moderation; grits,fruit,meat,poultry,,(no bones) veggies:cooked and raw,nuts,peanut butter,cheese,popcorn,crackers.

lots of things.. there is a thread somewhere on here, that list the foods you CAN NOT feed... (includes fruits like grapes, etc. ;)) i would read that and go from there.. :)

we feed the girls a little bit of fruit (in the summer)

we feed them cottage cheese. cheerios(as treats). yogurt.

and then there is the RAW food diet! ;)

When ya'll say peanut butter, are you talking plain old Jif (that's the brand I use, lol) from the jar? Or a more natural peanut butter?

I read macadamia nuts are poisonous to dogs, and other nuts have high phosphorus contents, so you have to be careful of bladder stones, but my old Chow mix used to love bar peanuts on special occasions and in moderation.

My fur kids love all the raw or frozen veggies, (green peppers, peas, broc, carrots,and much more. Fruits pineapple, apples, strawberries, banana, mango, pears, peaches,

Rooey loves the tiny baby carrots. I just wish I could get them all to eat more veggies.:animal-pa

Kramer loves, carrots, apples, bananas, peanut butter, peaches, popcorn and cheese, that's all I've given him, but of course moderation is key.

Three or four nights a week, I cut up half an apple into small pieces to share between Ted and WAllace (Lab). I put it in a special little bowl, then go sit on the couch and hand feed them a piece at a time. They patiently wait their turn and LOVE IT. You must turn down the TV to hear them crunching...it is the funniest thing. I used to give them a milk bone or something as a night treat..but this is so much more fun and I feel better just knowing it's an "apple."

I give an almond or 2 a day. Our vet recommended it as a healthy source of oil.
Punkin loves them. I just have to shake the can and she will come running.

Yogurt has dairy products that can upset a dogs stomach. In the end yorkies that eat alot of our foods they can end up with health problems. I had a yorkie that died recently becuase of health problems. My mistake was giving him the food we ate & the food they sell at regular pet stores that contain byproducts 7 preservatives. I have a new yorkie that is 7 months old & i only feed him natural organic food. I give him CALIFORNIA NATURAL & HOLISTIC SELECT :D & NATURAL TREATS. My yorkie wasnt eating well in the beginning so I would mix the food with the HOLISTIC CANNED FOOD & he is eating well now. Also Nutrical which is a vitamin supplement that is used when thye dont eat properly. you can buy the nutrical at Petco. The Holistic & California Natural can be bought online or any natural pet boutique nearby where you live. Just do a search on google:) In the long run it is better all natural products for your dogs than the ones with preservatives & by products in them :):D Hope this helps :)

Ellie gets chicken, turkey, egg (careful with preparation and kind of meat), noodles, rice, potato, sweet potato, barley, peas, green beans, squash, carrots, celery, bell peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, apple, banana, berries, melon, yogurt, lettuce and vanilla ice cream and cheez-its:rolleyes: rarely. Not recommending the cheez-its. lol.

Sydney eats...

Chicken breast w/ rice and raw or steamed carrots ....she LOVES chicken
Roast
Peanut butter
doggie treats
I have dropped fruit and she never seemed interested in it. And I never knew they could have yogurt , I may try it.


Chloe has only had a little bit of chicken and roast so far. She can be picky with her dog food , so I'm afraid she won't eat her dog food.

My girl loves them, but due to health issues, she can't have them anymore. Thye really are very unhealthy, esp. for small dogs. The fat content can potentially trigger pancreatitis.
