The product "Angel Eyes"-- I'm a newbie and have been lurking on here learning alot about all things Yorkie...I have a 9 month old baby...Tessa. I bought the product "Angel Eyes" cause I read about it here but I noticed since I've been giving it to her she has been getting diarrhea...Has anyone else had this problem with this product? Thanks for all the great info.... |
I have never used it but have thought about trying it. It has an antibiotic in it though so I am still unsure and doing more research on it. Most likely the diareaha is from the antibiotics in it and you should suppliment with some yogurt or probiotics if you continue to use Angel Eyes. |
Thanks for your reply...I had no idea it had antibiotics in it...I think I will wait when she is older to give it to her again... |
My mother has used this in the past with her toy poodle. While I was visiting he began acting very strange, digging at the couch, circling constantly, "running away from pain" ect. 20 mins later my mother had him at the vet. He had a severe allergic reaction to this product. Was on medications for a while, he is fine now but the vet recommended not to use this for her poodle. :thumbdown |
Angel Eyes is a low grade antibiotic (tylan). It can also falsely elevate liver enzymes. Because low grade antibiotics may not be healthy, I would only use it if the vet approves... |
I have been using this product for a little over a month. I have two shihtzus and one of them has staining around his eyes (his face is very white). When I started using this product, I had my little guy to the vet because he was not well (not eating, no energy, etc.). My vet did bloodwork on him and it came back that his liver enzymes were high. The vet wanted to wait and do more bloodwork on him in a few weeks. It never even crossed my mind that it could be this product.....and it was just last week that I went to order it again at my local pet store....and she asked me if I knew what this product contained....she then went on the internet and showed me her findings. I have taken him off of this product and will be calling my vet to tell her. I would not recommend this product .... |
With mine, I take a warm cotton ball to her eyes everyday, this keeps the "gunk" from getting all gunked up. If I don't clean them, I can't even get a comb through the hair around her eyes, and this is safe. If you're having trouble with the staining around them, try the cottonball.. |

Getting the junk I use a warm cloth to loosen it up and than a small kids toothbrush (soft bristles) to comb it out.. i do this every 3 days and it keeps my yorkies eyes looking good!:p |

However if you think that the angel eyes is what's causing your pups issue's then maybe you should take him off it and see if the diarreah goes away. |
