Why Lamb? I found out from researching and the vet that Lamb and rice is gentle for digestion. I have had such a difficult time with Jack's sensitive stomach. I thought it was such a blessing that the food could make such a difference and it also helped with the itching. Its nice when I picked the new food out at the natural food store they sold wellness, chicken soup, innova, eagle pack etc.... I was able to compare them to one another and California Natural came out on top for me. :rollingey :jump28ib: Jack and Mandy's Mom :jump28ib: :rollingey |

I'm glad to hear someone else uses it too. I love the stuff and moose does too. Ingredients are grear anyone I talk to who has a dog I till them about it...and stress the harvest baked kind. The only problem I have encountered is that it doesn't come in a 15 lb bag, I called and complained but ended up buying the 35 lb bag and got on of the stackable vittle vaults to store it in, well on the up side won't have to buy food for a while and if and lets hope not, a hurricane hits moose is well supplied in food. |
Hmmm....very interesting. Since I've Charlie on Royal Canin he's been itching like a madman. He's on his third round of antibiotics because the vet can't figure out what's wrong with him and now I'm very suspicious. Guess I'll be heading to Petco tomorrow for something new. Patty |
When we got Riley he was sent home on Eukanuba puppy food and he scratched all the time even though he doesn't have fleas. I switched him to Innova (which is what Jo eats) and our vet recommended DermCaps to help with the dry skin. Even though Jo has a beautiful coat I give each of them 1/2 DermCap mixed with their normal breakfast of about a tablespoon of soft food over a few pieces of dry food. The DermCaps look like a vitaminE capsule so I just poke the end with a knife and drizzle the oil over the food. They've only been on them for about a week and Riley has stopped scratching already plus his coat is a little brighter. So, if your puppy is itchy you might ask your vet about the DermCaps...it might help relieve some of the itchiness while they adjust to a different food. I know switching Riley's food and adding the DermCaps have helped him. |
