Bald Spot New to this forum and a 1st time Yorkie owner. We have a 14 month old male (silky) and just discovered a bald spot on his shoulder between the size of a nickel and quarter. No irritation, just completely bald. We bath him regularly, so this spot is fairly recent. I searched for this on these forums and one thread suggested something to do with the site of vaccinations - but it has been quite some time (months) since we've had any shots. Any ideas?... stress?... Diet?... We read in a Dr. Weil diet book how pets need fatty acids (eg, flax or fish oil) just like people do. BTW - Being first time Yorkie owners, we are absolutely smitten. Our kids are almost grown, and no one can remember laughing and smiling sooo much on a daily basis as we do now! Thanks, Steve in Indy |
Does it feel rough at all? It could be ringworm. I agree about the laughter....yorkies are your own personal clown. |
No, it's perfectly normal skin - perhaps a little dry. |
I am no expert and it probably could be a lot of things. However, I do know that a vaccination reaction can happen from one - six months after a vaccine. (According to my furbaby's dermatologist) Hope things get figured out. |
