Please don't lol at me, I am a newbie at homecooking for my babies. HUGS Debi |
Pintos are fine. I am currently feeding Max pintos and sweet potatos to determine his food allergies. This diet was recommended by a vet, so you should be fine. |
Onion Onion is toxic to dogs, so you must avoid giving them onion or garlic. |
Pinto beans are a good source of fiber. These are just fine for dogs, but not out of a can. Dried beans are best. Just cover with water, bring to boil for a couple of minutes, drain, rinse, then add enough water to cover the beans to about 4 inches. Bring to boil, lower heat, cover and simmer till done. (about 1 hour) If you want the dark brown broth then leave the lid off and simmer slow. When I cook pintos for just us, I add salt and about 6 to 7 cloves of fresh garlic and simmer with lid off since we love the dark broth, especially with cornbread. Oh goodness, what did I just do to myself :dribble: |
