Fleas when you never go outside???? How in this world does Trickisie get fleas, she never runs in the yard, only outside around the pool, wich has cool decking, on the front porch that is screened in with ceramic tile. Most of our home is tile. I brushed her tonight, I do everyday, and she had a few fleas. I had to give her Comfortis in her food. I hate having to give it to her, BUT, BUT???? What to do????:eek: |
Mine barely go out yet they still get them but only a couple for the whole year. When I walk mine I even keep them on the cement. That is strange that Tricksie is getting them when shes not even walking on grass. I dont knolw how she is getting them. When I see them on mine I give them a dawn bath |
this is EXACTLY what was going on with Fiona!!!!! SHE IS FINALLY FLEA FREE!!!!!! I had to get a spray that kills fleas/ticks, and it really worked....then last night, i gave fiona a bath and literally let the shampoo sit on her for about 10 min, and they all just dropped off, i have seen NONE today...thank god for that!!!!! HOpefully a frost will hit, and they will all die off outside! |
maybe she picked them up @ the vet or groomer? |
Fleas will come right in through your screens, especially this time of year when the weather get cooler. I have two indoor cats and Lady only goes out on my patio, but I still have to use a flea preventative here in North Carolina. |
If your surrounding area has a sand base rather than a true dirt/clay, fleas will be abundant. Patios will also have sand in between the tiles, and fleas can jump a very long way!!!! |
I know this sounds crazy, but how does a feal look? I heard they look like little nets..I checkec Chloe and dont see any but she does scratch... |
They look like tiny black spots but they are so hard to catch, you have to be quick. They can almost bury in the skin. |

you can sit the dog on a white towel. pet them and massage their skin with your finger tips. if you see black specs on the towel he probably has fleas. this is flea dirt a sign of fleas. |
