I am totally shocked that her pancreas is fine because of her symptoms lately. This is her ninth day of soft stool (except for the two days she didn't go at all). I think the Metro is starting to work though. The lipase was up, so the pancreas could've been irritated but not anymore.:confused: But this is Ellie May and she just is not clinical.;)

SO TRUE. Ellie IS one of THE Modern Mysteries, after all :p.

Hmmm. Well, Metro made Marcel's poos much worse after awhile - don't know how long you've had her on it. I think it made his better for 2-3 days, then down hill. But for many, Metro is fine - for others, it has an opposing effect of its intended clinical use :rolleyes:. Geesh...wonder what's irritating her system.

I am definately watching for this.
It wasn't getting better after 7 days, so the vet prescribed it (Wednesday).
She didn't go yesterday and she went twice this morning.
It seems to be getting better but if it gets worse again, she might have to come off.

Ellie has never ever had soft stool issues for this long.:confused:

Good to hear. My elderly, sick pom is on that meds as needed for chronic loose stools.

Yay Ellie.

We suffered through diarrhea with Reggie for long time...before finally finding a solution. Had a poop party the first time we saw a firm poop. :rolleyes:

Metro didn't do TJ any good either when he was having his mucus poops, it actually made him worse.

Roxy was on it for a little while when I was given her the lactulose for her liver and no problems. So it is good for some and bad for others.

With Ellie's new results, did they retest the lipase level also?

I just took Sissy in for a check-up and had them re-run the bloodwork from her original diagnose last fall. Her original lipase level was 1042 - now it is up to 1677 :eek:!!! The vet wants to start her on Reglyn and re-test in 6 months. I'm concerned as she is showing absolutely no symptoms right now.

She is already on a low-fat diet!!!!

We didn't retest the lipase because even if it was still up, the better test for pancreatitis is the Spec cPL which was perfectlly normal. With that being normal, there is really no reason to do anything else right now (except watch tha fat and make sure she doesn't have another acute case).

Did Sissy have more extensive pancreas blood work done before?
Before treating based on a lipase level, I would go with the Spec cPL and then decide...
