Eating a very large amount of garlic once or small amounts over time can cause problems. It is linked to anemia and asthmatic attacks. No thank you.:) Merricks quality control is questionable also.

I'm going to google that and send it to my MIL! She's constantly wanting to feeding all her grand dogs "garlic weenies" She makes them as a treat, but says it helps keep fleas and ticks away. She seems offended that I won't let her give them to Abby and Daisy. Now I'll have a leg to stand on :)

I've already sent off the links to all my SIL's and MIL. I'm sure she'll have an arguement, as she does about most things :rolleyes:
I have no idea what's in the garlic weenies, besides garlic and weenies, but that was always enough to make me have to turn her down. She thinks I'm nutty, about Abby and Daisy's diet, hmmmm.... who's nutty now :D

I purchased 6 - 5lb bags when I found out that the formula was changing. I am down to my last bag, so I need to began mixing in the new food.

I'm very upset as I had a hard time finding something that was easy on my pups stomach and that he enjoyed. I had switched around multiple times as he was suffering from loose and mucousy stool.

Some people still use it. What you can do is buy another bag and start gradually adding in a little with the old food, see how your pup does, he/she may be fine with it. I think from what my pet store said, they only added one thing to it. I don't understand why companies mess around with a good thing?

Apparently when I last posted, we were still working on an old bag. Problems did arise (and quickly) when I bought a new bag. Since then I've been feeding Wellness with no problems.

When I posted last I too must've gotten the last of the "old formula". Shortly after the post I had wrote we did start having problems and switched over to Blue Buffalo :) They LOVE it!

I have been feeding Canidae for many years with no problems, even with the new formula. I also feed Chicken Soup For the Pet Lovers Soul dry food. Since I also breed yorkies I like to give my pregnant females and pups the Chicken Soup Puppy food because it has a little more protein in it than the Canidae. I know some folks don't like anything that is manufactured by Diamond but I have never encountered problems. I have tried different foods but I always come back to the Canidae or Chicken Soup.

Yea, I'm not that happy with the choice of manufacturer or addition of grains.

I lied...well not really, I just forgot the name of my dog fod:eek::eek::eek:. I know what the bag looks like:rolleyes:. We empty it into a sealed container when we get home. I don't feed Wellness I feed Solid Gold.
