Castor & Pollux? I have been feeding Maddie Natural Balance small bites. The protein is 23% and some days she eats it well, other days not so well. I have been also adding a couple of tsp. of cooked ground turkey to boost the protein levels. I am curious if anyone has tried the Castor & Pollux brand foods? Maddie is 10 months old so I am looking at the puppy formula. Her coat isn't as shiny as I feel it could be so I am wondering if a food change would help? |
The food looks really good. My only concern is that you are paying a lot of money for "organic" which i'm pretty sure anyone can slap on a label without much thought... as far as i know there are no regulation as to what is organic and what isn't... so i'd just worry you are paying a higher price and not getting much from this food compared to other great foods. If you want to help her coat try adding vitamin E and omegas to her food. |
thanks for the information - the organic isn't really why I purchased it, just looking for quality ingredients with a higher protein than Natural Balance, but from all my reading on the forum, a lot of people recommend Natural Balance so I don't know if the protein is OK or not??? also, you mention adding vit. E & omegas. What and how much for a 6 1/2 lb, 10 month old Yorkie? I was looking into some of the products mentioned on another post to help with the coat. ?? |
Natural Balance isg reat. and high protein is never an issue unless your dog has liver issues. Otherwise- in my opinion, the higher the better- it's more natural for their systems. Um.. i'd say go buy capsules of it and squirt 1/2 a capsule on her food. |
