Food Hello everyone...I was just wondering how much, how often and what brand of dog food your yorkies eat? Demi's eating habits have changed a little bit lately and I wanted to see if the amount and the time she is eating is normal...I am also just interested in what brand you all think is best! Thanks! |
We give Yoda a scoop and a half of Royal Canin Yorkshire 28 in the morning. Usually that's enough for him all day, sometimes we sprinkle some chicken on it for him. It works well for us and Yoda likes it! |
We feed Royal Canin Yorkshire also, but leave it out all the time. Only add boiled chicken, liver, or beef once a day. Not too much of that as they need those vitamins in the RC food. |
Which Royal Canine would you recommend for a puppy of 13 weeks? Thanks! |
Hercules is almost 5 months and he eats about 1/4 cup Eukanuba puppy small breed two times a day. There are a few treats mixed in there too throughout the day! :) |
Well, when ours were little, I didn't know about Royal Canin. We fed ours Pro Pac puppy and they loved it. Royal Canin has a puppy food. You need to feed them puppy food until they get to be a year old. Puppy food has all the nutrients they need to grow on. I was given Iams when we got them, but they didn't like it so I went and did some research and found the Pro Pac. It (at the time) seemed to be very good and when I went to Pet Warehouse to buy it, the guy said it was a very good choice. You can mix in a good quality canned puppy food to soften it up if he seems to have a problem crunching it. Our Chuhga never had a problem, but Waya is much smaller and he didn't like the hard stuff. :D We also had to take him and get his puppy teeth removed. After that he didn't mind the hard stuff. Up here in south central Missouri, the vet cost for that was $20. I was really surprised at the cost. He had about 8 (?) teeth that needed to come out. I have a picture of his mouth with his extra teeth in (right before we took him to the vet. |
Too quick on the reply button. LOLL :o I also keep the feed out all the time. Not a lot so it won't go stale, but just there in case they get hungry. We have big dogs outside and do it that way also. Keeps them from gorging. I also was afraid of Chuhga getting hypoglycemia so I put a little karo in her drinking water every day. Don't know if it helped but she never got it. |
