vomits clear liquid When I got home tonight, I noticed that Mayme had vomited a clear liquid. No foam or anything else in it. Just clear. I had just thought she had gone to the bathroom, but when I wiped it up there was no smell and the towel was still white. She's done this 2 other times in probably the last month, and otherwise is acting completely normal. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this or what the clear liquid may be? |
What are you feeding and how often? And, when does the vomiting occur in relation to her meals? How old is she? |
Layla used to do that in the morning... we figured out it was because she had an empty tummy so now before she goes to bed she gets some yogurt and fruit baby food. But if you can answer all of ann's questions that will really help. |

I'm not sure about the other times in relation to when she had eaten, but I know it wasn't right after a meal. She's 1 yr old and 6.5 lbs. |
i think it could be because her tummy is empty. |
..we have clear liquid too. but maybe different then yours.. *shrugs* I have witnessed Alfie doing this as well... but after drinking and I think its due to over-indulging. I would place his fresh water down along side his food and he will gooble up all his water so quickly... then he has walked off a bit and up some of it comes, but with a thickness to it. Not sure if this is what your furbaby is doing... but I have seen the clear liquid thing in my house and I have come to my conclusions of it being his water coming back up on him... Hope you figure it out.. :) Quote:

My Griff, Nicky, will do this in the morning if I forget to give him a few bites of something. It's acid on his tummy. |
just make sure your feeding her enough of food. |

Yeah... Mocha is a little lady so its not her fault, Alfie on the other hand is just a Piggy-Boy...:D but the water was our issue, he has learned to slow down... sometimes he gets a little to excited and gulps it all down quickly, but we know the reason for the clear liquid which makes us feel better about it happening. Alfie sounds a lil like Mocha. Maybe they should meet and gulp down food together :D |

Yes, more than likely she has MVD because her enzymes are slightly elevated. I've already had two bile acid tests done, and the vet recommended we wait until around Christmas to test again. She's on Denamarin, and they want to see if it helps lower her enzymes. Since she's been on it, and the lower protein food, she's been completely normal (well, minus the 3 clear liquid vomits) |
