Please see if you can help us Why won't she eat? Our little girl will be 9 weeks old tomorrow. We got her Tues night. She ate tues night, had shots on Wed picked, Thurs she wasn't eating good either, so yesterday I thought maybe she decided she didn't like the food. I bought some new stuff mixed it in she ate good once and now she isn't eating again. She walks over to the bowl snifs and walks away. If I put single pieces randomly down she eats them. She is still playing and seems happy but I think she should be eating more. She is 2 lbs. Any advice I thought maybe its the bowls or something but don't know. |
Well she might not feel well from the shots- that's always possible. But I can't even remember how long i had to pick out a piece for layla... put it on the floor... and she would eat it.... i think it is very common among yorkies. Maybe put a handful of the food on floor for her. Also when we first got Layla we HAD to sit and eat with her... she just wanted the company :) |
Same with Bella Bella is now a year old and still an extremely picky eater:(. When we first got her last December (2 1/2 months old) she wouldn't eat anything wet or dry. I tried many, many canned foods but she didn't like any. I tried many, many dry foods, didn't like any. I tried treats didn't like most. I was so worried about her. The vet kept saying when shes hungry she'll eat. But I couldn't wait that long. I hated that she wasn't eating. Thats when we started cooking her beef and chicken. We started adding potatoes and vegies. And yes she wanted to be hand fed. I went crazy for almost a year. I finally found she loves Natural Balance food rolls last week:thumbup:. Now I alternate between home cooking and them. But she doesn't like Natural Balance Potato and Duck dry food. She has eaten maybe 5 or 6 pieces over the past week. Now I have a 3 lb. bag to add to my assorted other bags of dry that I have put away:thumbdown. She picks certain kibble out of Kibbles and Bits. Which I know is not supposed to be good food. I guess it all comes down to a lot of patience and trying many different foods. Just keep trying different foods. |
Thanks for the help looks like I will be doing a natural balance search to see. She is still going potty so I guess she isn't out of food in tummy yet. |
