switching food brands hey guys!!!! i wanted to now if it's safe feeding my puppy adult food!! he just turned 4 months, cause i've been blending with he's usual brand and he reactd really bad with runny poop (diarrhea)... should i stop feeding him the new brand?? it's called Total supreme (suitable for yorkies) plz help!!! |
I had the same problem, you need to introduce the new food "very slow" otherwise you'll have that problem. I would go back to his original food, once he is fine, start the process all over again, this time even slower, it will take a few weeks. |
thnx for the advise, i put out his original brand and 1/3 of the new 1 and he seems to be getting better!!! |
Uhm, I don't know, but I think 4 months is a little young to start on adult food. I did a post just a few weeks ago, and many here recommend to feed adult food when they're 10 months - 1 year old. I personally plan to start mixing their food with adult when Mocha is 11 months old. :) |
I've Switched Foods.... ....since he wasn't eating at all and would turn his nose up and walk away. He's been on 6-8+ types of foods. Now he's on Royal Cainine. Anyways, I did it slowly when I did switch. I put in 25% (or less) of the new and 75% (or more) of the old. It took 3-4 weeks before he would be totally switched, if we even got that far. He picked out the new and left the old. But the boy finally likes the Royal Cainine which is for picky eaters I am told.:animal-pa |
i'm having the same problem with kikoo, he loves to eat wat i'm eating everytime i'm at the dinning table; royal canine (for pups) makes him itchy so i'm tryin to find the most suitable brad for him instead of feeding him chicken all the time... |
I use a all stage formula.. my puppies and adults eat the same thing. |
