Spinach? I added some frozen spinach to the sweet potato and chicken (with a small amount of butter) to Desiree's menu. I would say 3/4 sweet potato/chicken to 1/4 spinach. She was hiding in the corner and shivering again with digestive distress!!!! :( Did I pick the wrong veggie? I was concerned about her not getting the nutrients she needs. What is in other veggies that sweet potato doesn't have? She was so happy and comfortable on the sweet potato and chicken. Do I have to add veggies? What is the purpose of kelp? |
Spinach wouldn't be a good veggie for dogs with digestive/stomach issues. You probably should also skip cauliflower and broccoli for now. How about green beans, carrots or squash? That won't balance everything though, so it is still important to supplement. |
It may have been the butter - which has a very high fat content. I would definitely skip that part. My girls love spinach, asparagus, green beans, peas and squash especially. |
What kind of squash? Summer (yellow), zuccini, (I'm Italian, so that's what comes to mind) or winter squash (wouldn't that be really close to sweet potato?) |

Since yellow and zuccini are full of seeds, I like the other two. Never tried winter squash... |
Do you use a complete supplement like a multi vitamin or do you mix it up? |

BalanceIT L is used for healthy dogs but it has menadione in it which isn't too good. |
