raw hamburger??? I seen a recipe a while ago to put weight on a puppy. It had raw hamburger in it. I have always heard that raw meat would make a dog mean..Is this true? I don't want to give her more of an attitude than she already has but she is so skinny. |
Although I've never heard that...I'm fairly certain it must be a wives tail. Lots of people feed raw diets... |
Mine are on a raw diet and have not one negative effect from it. The positives are a very long list though. There's a thread you can read, here, about it. |

bunch of sweeties in this world - Funny how some of these things get started but i would definitely try the raw diet and if you can get organic beef that would be best - we grow our own so we know whats in it. Be careful of supermarket beef that may have lots of chemicals and or additives in it. |
I think it's pretty safe to stamp that as a "MYTH" |
Some hamburger has an excessive amount of fat in it, I would be worried that it might cause pancreatitis, and maybe that makes them mean, it's very painful. |

I couldn't eat something I...hmmmm...knew previously. |

Sheep, chickens, goats, beef I look at it this way: At least I'll know what went into them and what didn't and more importantly I'll know they lived in wonderful conditions, were happy and were butchered humanely. You can't say that if when you buy it wrapped in a foam tray. |
Oh I have the capability of going directly to the source for meats...but personally I'm glad it's not MY farm. |
