I need to FATTEN her up!!! My little girl is sooo picky and I can feel every rib on her. Her little bones feel like bird bones and I'm so afraid that she will get hurt playing with my male. They are the same size now, but she is 7 months and he is 3 months ~ I'm afraid as he gets older and bigger, that he will hurt her accidentally. If I give her snacks, which she usually won't eat anyway, then she surely won't eat her dinner. I've tried everything, even the beef balls with cereal and molasses that everyone says will work as a last resort! Any ideas on how to "fatten up" a very picky eater? |
BOY I HOPE U GET SOME HELP ON THIS. MY MOLLY IS SUCH A PICKY EATER TO. AN SKINNY. I KEEP CHANGING HER FOOD TO TRY TO FIND SOMETHING SHE LIKES. SHE WILL EAT IT FOR A DAY OR TWO THEM SHE DOESN`t LIKE IT ANY MORE. SHE ONLY WEIGHS 2PDS AN 11OUNCES. I FEED ONLY ORGANIC. SHE IS 8 MONTHS OLD. I KEEP DRYED FOOD OUT FOR HER ALL THE TIME . THEN FEED HER MEAT THREE TIMES A DAY. BUT I DON`T WANT HER SKINNY EITHER. HOPE SOMEBODY HAS ANSWERS. |
Bella too Same with my Bella. I had her shaved close at the beginning of the summer and I was shocked at how skinny she was and how I could see every rib. She also is an extremely picky eater. Will not eat canned dog food. Only eats a few kibbles of dry (certain pieces). I have been cooking up 90% ground beef, boneless chicken breast, and leftover steak, along with peas, potatoes, spinach, broccoli, etc. Different combinations all the time. One day she'll eat this one day she won't. She had Chicken, spinach and broccoli for breakfast won't eat it for dinner now. :aimeeyork |
My Chelsey was a super picky eater so I hand feed her from about 6 months to 18 months. That built up her appetite and she now at two eats just about right. |
My Bella is a picky one also, I watching for answers also on this thread. She just had an injury and I'm trying to keep her weight up! I boiled chicken with the broth. Just trying what I can, she also won't eat can food. How weird is that. She weighs right at 4lbs. |
Have you tried Satin Balls? I have an extremely picker eater too. And, every since I was enlightened to these tasty delights, I've managed to get at least half of a patty in her per day. So far she has gained a whole pound! Here's a post to a few recipes on these. Good Luck! http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...tin-balls.html |

picky eater Oh Thank You So Much For This Receipe. I`m Going To Try This For Molly. She Needs To Gain Some Weight. An Maybe If I Add A Little Bit Of This To Her Regular Food Might Be Able To Get Her To Eat It. Think It Will Work? When My Yorkiepoo Died I Said Another Dog Will Not Rule The Eating Anymore. Well Here I`m Eating My Words. But Just Want Her To Be Healthly. I Feed Her Organic Food But Alot Of That Is Vegegies. An That Isn`t Fatting. Thats What They Tell U To Eat When U Are On A Diet So I Keep Thinking Is This Best Way To Feed Her But Don`t Want Her On This Junk Food Either. Oh To Be A New Fur Baby Mommy. She Seems To Be Healthy. Has Lots Of Energy. Thanks So Much For Your Help. |
I'm no expert, but I'd just pick something and stick with it and not let anything else pass her lips. Based on what you said she does if and when she has a treat (i.e., doesn't eat dinner), all that variety might be encouraging her picky eating. We had the same problem early on with our dog where he would only eat a particular food for a few days, and we were switching foods often. Eventually, we decided that we were going to make the decision for him. It took a couple of days for him to come around (he caved long before he was at risk of starving himself), but since then he's been just fine with one--and only one--type of food. |

This is a great product...the canned food is amazing...please look it up on line...and read the ingredients...I think you will be surprised..it took a couple of very stubborn and scary weeks...but KiKi finally adapted to it and she loves it now....I will not change again (she likes the puppy plate)....I do give her a couple of pieces of watermelon every day as a treat and for snacks I give her carrots, raspberries (just a couple) and cucumber and peanut butter in her kong toy... Good luck with this...I know how frustrating this can be...:animal36 |
The Only Reason I Keep Trying Different Things Is I Don`t Feel Like She Has Any Weight To Lose. I Know My Hubby Says If She Gets Hungery She Will Eat. I Keep Dry Food Out All Of The Time. An She Does Nibble On It. Ok Who`s The Boss Here Huh? |
My boys are really pickey too! I went through all sorts of different foods trying to get them settled in with something they liked. Nothing worked but raw. I feed Natures Variety raw medallions. They love them. You should try a bag. It was recommended to me to start out with the organic chicken. I'm rotating venison and rabbit right now. They have chicken, organic chicken, lamb, beef, venison and rabbit. The beef made mine itch, and they don't care for the chicken. I guess that they like the more pungent meats. Good luck Nature's Variety |
I Tried The Raw Chicken An She Liked Them For About A Week An Then She Would Walk Away From Them. With Then Being Raw I Didn`t Like To Leave Then Out Very Long. Also Tried The Other Meat To Nope She Wouldn`t Eat Them At All. I Have Her On Chicken That I Boil Now An She Is Eating That But Maybe Tomorrow She Won`t. I`m Going To Try The Satin Balls They Were Talking About. At Least Get A Little Meat On Her. |
