Got the scoop on Timberwolf Organic I finally found out why the dry food is so hard to come by. Apparently, they had a problem with the plant that manufactured the food. The plant was not using organic product. They also had issues with some of the fish that necessitated the recall of two flavors. They shut down production and are changing plants. They are changing their name to plain Timberwolf. It will not longer be marketed as organic. It remains a high quality food with no grains, it just won't be organic, never was. The distributor hopes to be able to start moving product soon. Here is my dilemma. At first blush, I was angry that I was lied to and thought I should not patronize this company. The company did not know that the plant was screwing them over. On the other hand, my girls have thrived on the food, organic or not. So, what is best for my girls? If not Timberwolf, what other kibble is grain free and tiny? For now, I will stick with the Timberwolf. I got a sample of Solid Gold that is smaller kibble, but it has grain in it (no wheat or corn). Is this good? Is there another organic grain-free kibble out there? |
Thanks for the info.....I feed Timberwolf also, I went all over town to get a good supply of the Wild & Natural. I am afraid when they come out with the new, my girls won't like it. That happened right after the dog food recall, I was feeding Lucy 3 Dog Bakery & they changed their formula. She couldn't/wouldn't eat the new stuff at all. That was no fun, trying to find her something to eat :) I went to a place that gave me a sample of Solid Gold Barking At The Moon, it has high meat content & is grainless, but the protein is to high for puppys. I didn't even open it. Check out this site for some info Dog Food Reviews - Dry Dog Foods - Powered by ReviewPost I am still looking around & even researching raw food alittle. |
My Keoki tried EVERYTHING and then I found Timberwolf which he LOVED and I am grateful for the info you just provided that I had no idea about but just recently I switched to the raw diet ( primal ) which is completely organic and he LOVES it more than dry. |
I'm feeding my baby raw as he wouldn't touch raw. The last food I tried, was a sample bag of Before Grain by Merrick's which is grain free. |
What about Natures Variety Instinct - that's a fantastic kibble. I feed NV's raw frozen, but if I fed kibble - that'd be the one I'd use. :) |
