Fever - how do you know? I did a search but did not come up with anything specific. I think I am over searching or to generic. How do you know if they are running fever? |
Take rectal temperature. Use a digital thermometer if you can. Normal temp can be between 99-101.5 I believe. If there is a temp, call your vet. |
I would like to know this as well. I have heard about the temperature of the nose thing. But that may just be a myth. I hope someone has an answer for your question. Hopefully there will be a way without using a thermometer. Although that would probably be the most accurate. |
oh no is mr. Sam not feeling well? I've heard if the inside of their ears and their tummy is warm they might have a fever but sadly for Sam, the best way is the bum way :( |
My mom and I were debating back and forth on if Sam had a temp. She said bc his nose was dry and he was laying around that he must have a fever. I disagreed. He has been laying in front of a fan (could be why the nose was dry) and he was running around like crazy a bit ago outside (why he was laying around). His tummy and ears do not feel warm to me so I think he is fine. I think the only thing wrong is that Nana thinks she knows best :p |
You can take a rectal temperature or an ear temperature. Here's a good how to: How to Take Your Dog’s Temperature |

You would need to take it rectal. |
