how old does your puppy need to be before you start to feed them the raw medaillions? I want to switch my puppies food soon after I get him. He is currently on Eukanuba dry puppy food. I am picking her up from my breeder on Tues. She will be a couple of days shy of 9 weeks. Thanks for any info. Tess |
Puppies can eat raw from the beginning. That said, I'd let your baby settle in for a good couple weeks before making any major changes - just to be sure everything is fine. Puppies go through a lot of stress when moving to their first home, and stress affects digestion - so if you can wait just a bit - I think that'd be good. But after that, go for it. :) |
I brought some medallions to my breeder ahead of time so that she would be more used to them. She just gave her little bits at a time...that way when she came home at 12 weeks old, she was more acustom to them. Since she is so young, I'd do just a little at a time, so that it isn't such a big change with everything all at once. If your breeder could keep her a bit longer, and you could get some medallions to her, that would make her adjustments easier on all of you if she is a bit older...those 3 week are hard to wait for, but better in the long run. Can't wait to see pictures!!!! |
