heYy hEre iS where i am confused.. 3 months ago i my vet gave me revolution for pixie which was against fleas , ticks, heartworm . Now i went to my vet today and they didnt have anymore revolution and i would have to wait to next week and instead they gave me heartguard chewables for pixie. I understand that this doesnt guard against ticks and fleas so0 what do u suggest i buy in order to keep the fleas away ?? thAnKSs

I use heartguard on both of my babies for heartworm and I use K9 Advantix for fleas, ticks, and mosquitos. I like heartguard because I don't have to worry about them eating the pill, they think it's a treat. My vet also said Advantix is the best for fleas and stuff...

Can they give anything against fleas to 9 week old pups? My pups love it outside but the fleas are crazy. I gave them a flea bath & they were freezing sitting there a couple of minutes in the lather & scared since they aren't used to baths yet.

I think you have to wait until 12 weeks but I'm not completely sure. I seem to remember that though. The only topical flea removal that works IMO is given by the vet, so give your vet a call and tell them what's going on.

I'm not familiar with revolution but the flea and tick med I have on mine is Frontline Plus, which I've used since I got them at 10 weeks. Some people with very tiny puppies use half the dosage. You put it on the back of the head, once a month. For heartworms I use Heartguard, which looks like a pink, square treat. This is also once a month. If you are unsure of whether or not to use and the mosquitos are bad, like here in Fl., I'd use pads rather than let my puppy get bitten by a mosquito carrying the heartworm infestation. If you want, try using Avon's Skin so Soft. It is definitely something that will keep fleas off.

Thanks. The pups are going to the vet Saturday & I'm sure they will have something. I just get impatient.

Pixie - Maybe they won't get any fleas until you go back next week. I bought flea shampoo & it's supposed to be good for 10 days. Maybe use that until Revolution comes in.

I use heartquard and advantage. I am sure your vet will give you something.

iSs itT oKk iF i used heartguard the other day and i buy revolution and give her a dosage ?? She is 6 months old and about 6 pounds

If i am not mistaken you can use frontline after 8 weeks! Ask your vet..
