my yorkies menstruation i have a female yorkie three and a half lbs,and is about to be ten months, does anyone know when her menstruation will start, Any advise on signs i should be looking for. She is usually very quiet and just wants to lay around, so I dont know what signs to look for.Thank You |
I think it's anywheres from about 6months to a year with I believe 8 months being the average. My baby girl was just shy of 10 months so be on the look out! |
thank u for the info, because i have a one year old yorkie boy and i'am so afraid she will get it when i'am not around, and that the yorkie boy will try and do something to her, is that even possible? |

WOW, I will separate them for sure them for now, because i do want them to have a litter, but just not right now. Sam is five LBS and Molly is three and a half. Therefore I just dont know if it is safe for her to have babies. Thank You so much for the response. |

Molly sounds like she might be a bit too small to consider breeding. Most will say that your female should be at least 5lbs. As for the male, not sure how old he is but if he has stopped growing at 5lbs and she eventually reaches 5lbs (but I hate to say, I don't think that's likely) then you hopefully will be ok. I would caution you to do the necessary health testing as you do not want to have unhealthy babies or pass on poor genetic qualities. If you do a search on here, you will find all kinds of info and you will probably see that this kind of thing can sometimes get people all riled up. I think all anyone wants is for you not to endanger your little girl and if you are going to breed, go about it for the right reasons, to better the breed. Sometimes people think there is easy money in it but you will find that isn't really true and you will see a lot of people have gone thru heartbreak breeding these little guys, it's not an easy path you are embarking on.
