Swollen Anus...help? I was bathing Leo tonight, and during his bath I noticed that his anus is red and really swollen. He doesn't have anything stuck in there, and I have tried to express the gland.....has anyone ever had this problem? Also, he doesn't seem to be in any discomfort. Thanks in advance for any responses! |
Hmmm, that's odd - do you know if he pooped okay? Did you feed anything different? If you have any diaper rash cream or hydrocortisone cream on hand, you could put some on there. Otherwise, you may have to take him in. :( |
I would keep an eye on his little bum, and see if it's still swollen in the morning. Emma's was red yesterday too-I noticed it after a bath, but I think there was some mud or poo stuck to her butt. It looks better today. You could try putting a little neosporin on his tushie to help the redness go down. If it's still irritated tomorrow, call your vet. |
Hope he feels better. I do not know what would have caused this. :aimeeyork |
Thank you all for your concern! He is better today, I wiped it last night with a Tuck's pad, and it seemed to help. |
So glad to hear things are better with your little guy. Hard to know what was wrong but at least its better now. |
Sometimes just a swipe with some hydrocortisone cream will help. Perhaps it is just irritated or itchy. Hope he does ok.:) |
