Very Bad Breath Does anyone know how to help the bad smells in roxies mouth? I've seen some different posts on drops you can add to their water bowl. Any thoughts on this? Thanks! |
I'd love to know the answer to this too!! |
We use the Cool and Clear that goes in their water. It cleaned up all the plaque on their teeth and they all have sweet breath now. It has a minty smell. Kissy had 6 years of build up on her teeth but they are all sparkly white again. :D I know a lot brush their baby's teeth but i never have. Kissy's head is too round to hold on to! |
How old is Roxie? |
Where do you get Cool and Clear, if it works that well I've got to have some!! |
Roxie is 1 year and 4 months old. Cool and Clear sounds good if it helps. What's in it and where do you get it? |
I use oral care in the water and there is no taste or smell to it. I have also just started using Petzlife spray and that is suppose to work great but too soon to tell. The oral care I buy at Wal Mart and have been using it for awhile now. It seems to work pretty good.:) |

Cool and Clear It is a 16 oz. bottle and you only use a capful per 24 oz. of water so it goes a LONG way. I also use filtered or bottled water instead of tap water. Our water has fluoride in it and that isn't good for pets. |
Have you tried Petzlife for tartar buildup? That is another option for you. Also, if you can find, "Fresh Bites". An all natural tiny cookie with all natural ingrediants encluding Parsley. It's made by Nutro and is an Holistic product. Bud has never had bad breath so it does work. |

Thank you for all the tips. I have bought her a toothbrush and going to start that too. Also going to look into the drops. :D |

Get out! Did the plaque just flake off or did you have to scrape it or anything? This just might be the answer to my prayers. We have a terrible time with teeth around here, but my girls are drama queens and the toothbrush goes over like a lead balloon! I had seen Leba III in a catalog, but it's a tiny spray bottle for something like $50+ and I've never met anyone that actually uses it. Too expensive to just try it. So, the Cool and Clear sounds fantastic! Thanks so much! Susan |

of course, it doesn't work overnight and takes some time since there is just a tiny bit of the liquid in the water but it was worth it's weight in gold to me not to have to have her put under for a dental!! As you know that is very risky and expen$ive!! I tried the brushing and the dental wipes...nothing worked on Kissy's teeth. She has a round head too so there was nothing to hold on to! LOL!! |
Thanks Linda! A couple of months ago, I noticed stinky breath on one of my girls during a routine grooming session. Turned out she had a cracked tooth, so a dental was necessary. (...and yes, expensive, lol) I've tried to stay on top of it with chews and dental treats, but nothing works and the tartar is coming back. I don't want to put her under for another dental, so I'm going to check this out. She's a major drama queen so I need a sneaky method! Thanks again, Susan |
