Still Fleas? So we gave chewy bio-spot, and capstar, we treated everything in our apartment and i gave him a nice bath the day before the bio-spot so i could see if new flea dirt came along...but i just found some more flea dirt on him and he is still itchy! i have no recieved any more bites, nor my fiance.... still fleas? or old dirt? |
I had the same problem with frontline,so i got advantage and theres no more fleas,i just cried when i found them again its so frustrating, but thank god i bombed three times, washed linen in hot water and one thing i like about advantage my babies had no more fleas and it also kills the larva so no more will hatch on them and its such a relief not seeing them scratch and suffer,so now i feel im a better parent, sorry this was long. |
I have not heard of bio spot and i know capstar just kills the fleas on him at the time and only lasts one day, read up on each product,i bought frontline at the vet and with know info. it said that it would keep happening because frontline does not kill the larva but once they hatched it would kill the fleas and i actually called frontline and they said it would take up to two months and i was having none of that,so i looked up advantage and read what i told you ,i have always used advantage, but my sister said that her vet said frontline was better, not true,i learned my lesson to look online first before i buy any products for my baby and also you can buy advantage at petsupermarket. |
The best thing to treat your house and yard is Borax. You sprinkle Borax on your carpets and under EVERYTHING. Empty a pringles can and sprinkle in your yard.....you should just Google Borax there is great info on the net about it....I have done it in my house and WE have NO fleas in the house. I am going to do the yard this weekend. :D |
Please don't use Bio Spot or any other flea products from grocery or chain stores. They are very dangerous and can kill your pet. http://www.apnm.org/publications/res...leachemfin.pdf Bio Spot - Flea & Tick Control for Dogs - Consumer Alert As I told you in your other thread, the Capstar just killed the adult fleas, not the eggs and larvae. When he scratches, they fall off and hatch in your carpet. You need a good topical that kills all stages of the flea from your vet like Frontline or K9 Advantix. You may have to treat your carpets or bomb your house if you can't get ahead of the fleas. |
