bleeding gums? I've got a 3 year old female yorkie, and i just noticed that when i brushed her teeth- her gums bled! i've been away for a month, and i don't think my brother has brushed them at all, though i only brushed maybe once a week anyway.... what should I do? what is causing this? help! thanks! |
Take her to your Vet, maybe he brushed to hard. |
The bleeding is caused by the build up of plaque, just like us if you only had your teeth brushed once a week you would also get some bleeding of the gingivae. Try to do them everyday and the bleeding will stop.:D |
you must brush them everyday, use petrodex enzymatic toothpaste for dogs, use a cat toothbrush. you must brush everyday so they do not bleed. if i go away and leave him with my daughter, for 2 to 3 days and when i come back home, his gums bleed, cause she does not brush them. |
Hope you get your baby back on track. Its hard to leave them under someone elses care even for a day or two. |
Thanks, I'll get back on track. :-) This is actually a serious question I've wondered (also wondered how the dogs would survive without a haircut in the wild, but that's another topic...) - for cats and dogs, if they didn't have us to brush their teeth, how would they survive? how did they survive in the wild, or back when there was no doggy toothpaste? |
