Questions about raw food I posted previously about just starting Topper on Primal raw and he seems to like it. But I am a little concerned because he doesn't appear to chew his food he just swallows it. I know they put bone in the raw food but doesn't it need to be chewed to digest? Do you think it could hurt his insides by swallowing it whole? Also do your babies still act hungry after eating the raw? It seems like such a small portion...1 1/2 to 2 nuggets for a 4.5 pound baby. He is still staring at me after he is done like he wants more. Is there a big difference between NV raw and Primal? When searching it looked like more YT folks were feeding the NV. So far the Primal is all I have been able to find. Thanks for any help as I know this will not be the last of my questions. |
I feed it still frozen. I put the amount in a baggie and let sit on the granite counter for 5 mins. Just enough thaw time for me to be able to cut it into little pieces. TJ prefer to chew it this way (he actually has to chew into it). I have also been giving a few tiny piece of apple. If you baby is EXTREMELY active, he may need a little more ;) |
He definitely isn't active!! He would rather nap than anything. I tried it cold from the fridge and he wouldn't touch it so I heated it for 10 seconds in the microwave and he was all over it. |
Maybe you could give him some raw bone once in a while? They do need something to work on for their teeth. Soft food all the time is not good for long periods of time unless they can't chew for some reason. They seem way more satisfied when they can work on an appropriate bone. :) |
