Shaky and delirious My Yorkie is acting weird lately (it's been happening more frequently). Sometimes, he will run around, won't sit still, panting, shaking. He acts like he does during a thunderstorm (he's scared of them) but it's not raining and nothing has scared him. Nothing will make him feel better, it just goes away after a few HOURS! I didn't think anything of it but it seems to be happening a lot lately. I read somewhere that it could be hypoglycemia (or something, I can't remember! :(). Does anybody know what it could be (if anything)? Do we need to go to the vet to do some blood work? |
I would give him some nutrical and see if he stops. You might want to take him to the vet for a check up. Shaking can be a sign of pain also |
I'm bumping this to see if anyone else would know the answer it could be hypoglycemia, it could be liver shunt:confused: I would take him to the vet for a check up. |

Awww, there is nothing more heartbreaking than to see our puppies sick. I hope your baby is OK, for peace of mind perhaps take him to the vet, so you know whether the furbaby has to be treated for something or he is just being a silly baby. ;) I hope its the latter. |
Ahh that sounds scary...I would have him checked out...hypoglocemia can be fatal. |
Maybe your yorkie is a sensitive soul. My Ramsey is terrified of thunderstorms, cars backfiring, fireworks...any loud noise....and house flies. I actually have to hunt down any rogue fly...because they make her a nervous wreck. I've gone as far as to show her their corpses afterward. Double  Their hearing is very acute...he may hear something you don't hear. Or it could be flies. :) |
I would say if the nutrical doesn't work then you need to have your dog checked out. You will feel lots better getting the vets opinion on that problem. Mine will hide in my bedroom on the bed when my DH will start his motorcycle or the fireworks or a storm. She doesn't like storms she will pace if its a heavy wind or rain that is strong. They do have good hearing. My hubby tends to turn the TV up or have the surround sound on and she will also leave the room. Its too much for her. The others don't seem to do that. |
