Nature's Recipe food? Hi, I have been researching a good quality food for my new baby, and I tried to get a brand with no corn, by-products, fillers, or artificial preservatives, as I heard these could be harmful or unhealthy. The last Yorkie I had lived to be 17 years old but passed away in 2001. Back then I did not know about the healthier brands, and I fed her Eukanuba(which apparently as I read isn't very healthy in most opinions!) So, I bought Nature's Recipe, and the first few ingredients are lamb meal, ground rice, pearled barley, oatmeal, chicken fat, dried egg product, etc. It says on the label no added beef, corn, wheat, by products, or artificial preservatives. Was this a good choice? Or should I go for a different brand? My baby wont be ready for her new home until next week, so if this brand is no-good I will replace it! :) Thanks very much in advance! |
Baxter has a sensitive stomach and this brand gave him diarrhea. He was so sick and that was introducing it slowly. I use Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lovers Soul and have no problems with it. |
I bought this kind of food earlier today. Charlie has been scratching like crazy since he started on Science Diet's natural stuff (can't remember the name). I introduced it gradually with his Chicken Soup stuff, but when it ran out he was eating just the Science Diet and he loved it. He must be miserable because he's so itchy, so this morning I went to PetSmart and bought the Nature's Recipe for toy dogs. Have you tried it with your little one yet? If so, how does he/she like it? p. |

I'm glad to hear that. He hasn't eaten much yet (it's been in the house less that 24 hours), but I'm hoping that he'll like it and it solves the problem. p. |
Natures Recipe is excellent food. Good choice! :) |
