My Puppy Swallowed a Marshmallow Hi All, My 14 week old puppy got ahold of a mini marshmallow and swallowed it whole. He made a couple of funny noises and I syringed some water into his mouth. He seems fine, but should I worry? He's sleeping now and seems to be breathing fine...still should I worry? Is there something I can do? |
;) I would say as long as your pup is acting fine and breathing ok there should be no problem. Plus marshmallow's usually desolve after awhile of being wet. I hope this helped. :) |
I agree, just keep an eye on him, your his Mom and I am sure you'll know if sometihing is wrong and needs attention. P.S. He is probably dreaming about have the next one toasted...he-he-he-he |
Like I say... "when in doubt, call the vet." If I am not sure of anything, I usually just give the vet a call, just for peace of mind. |
Thanks everyone. Teddy is doing fine. Slept fine, pooped fine. No problems, but I'll have to watch the marshmallows. He gulped it so fast because he saw I was coming to take it from it otherwise he might have chewed it up a little  |
Should be fine...Marshmellows are made of confectioners sugar, which is not great for dogs, but is safe for them...In fact that is what you find all those fancy dog "chocolattes" and things are made with confectioners sugar. Really the primary danger here is eating empty calories! |
