| Ellie May | 07-07-2008 06:16 AM | While most vets say that kibble is better for teeth, the studies done on this weren't very well done. The only kibble that is great for teeth is a veterinary dental diet. The kibble breaks on contact, so I wouldn't be too concerned if your pup doesn't want it. I know people say that canned makes tartar build up faster. I'm not sure this has been scientifically proven (probably not), but if that is a concern, you can brush his teeth. All dogs should have their teeth brushed no matter what they eat. Several people on YT feed homecooked which is soft. Ellie has peridontal disease and kibble didn't do a thing for it. She had her teeth cleaned and some pulled. Now she eats homecooked and gets her teeth brushed and they are so much better.:)
As far as Evo canned, that is way too high in fat and I wouldn't feed it to a Yorkie because they are susceptible to pancreatitis. |
