Constipation? I don't know what to do. My 5 1/2 month old, Mabel, seems very constipated today. She's a picky eater but ate breakfast okay (about 8:30am). After that, she didn't want any treats. I gave her some soft food around 3:00 and she ate it no problem. I also gave her a small spoonful of pumpkin. She tried to poop but only got a little out. She kept straining until she gave up. She has an appetite. Should I just wait it out? I feel so bad that she's uncomfortable. She's been lounging around napping all day. She'll play if I try to play with her, she's just not herself. Is there anything else I should try since the pumpkin didn't really do it? |
How big a spoonful of pumpkin did you give her? If it was just a teaspoon, I think you could give her some more and see if you can't get things moving. Is she literally plugged up? I've had this happen before, where they just can't get some moving and a warm bath and a good wash of the back side has helped. |
Lucie had some problems with this when I got her home, I made sure she drank plenty of water and by the next day she was having an easier time 'going'. |
