How big? My 3 and a half month old boy puppy is about 4.5 lbs and I was wondering if they have a major growth spurt like some of the bigger breeds or this is pretty much it, or he'll get a little taller and thicker? |
Hi! My guess is he's going to get bigger. Oscar was 5 mo. old when I got him and 6 lbs. He's now almost 9 mo. and 9 lbs. He's seemed to have almost stopped in his growing now, and I think he'll top out at about 10 lbs. Your little one has several months of growing to do yet. I was hoping for a slightly smaller Yorkie when I got Oscar, but now I wouldn't trade him..... :) |
Generally they say they stop getting taller and longer when all of their adult teeth are in between 6-7 months usually, but they will still fill out some after that. Not all grow according to this pattern. It is just a rule of thumb so to speak. There are definitely exceptions. |
size Your Yorkie shouldn't be much past 8 or 9 pounds. Best wishes |
