Hot Spots on Pippi and Peaches....What to use??? This question is regarding my other two babies, Pippi and Peaches - I hope it's ok to post this here as they are not Yorkies  Peaches has 2 Hot Spots on her, one on her back left leg, and one on her front right leg. Also, Pippi has just started getting two of them on the side of her tummy. I would LIKE to get these under control before they just get worse and was wondering if anyone knows of anything that helps get rid of these darn things? I know they are a common thing that dogs get, but I do want to rid my Pippi and Peaches of them before they just get bigger and more itchy. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!! :D |
I don't know Brooke, but I just wanted to find out who Pippi and Peaches were and if you had pics of the posted somewhere... :D I hope their hot spots go away soon and it's nothing serious... |
hot spot Use Tea Tree Oil...it worked when the cortizone/steroid the meds only helped a bit..happened to mine three times. Becca got a small red spot and one application cured it...I keep it on hand all the time now. |

Peaches hobbies made me laugh with the meter reader and mail mail! I bet she is really glad she found your garage, she looks as spoilt at Steddy and Tat! When I read Mini Doxie in Pippi's profile I remembered you'd told me about her before... I seem to recall me making a post asking what one was and thinking it was a kitchen appliance or something! LOL I love the video of her in the swing! :D |
My son's dog got a couple hot spots and someone told him their dog had that and they cleared it right up with Aquaphor Healing Ointment, so he tried it and it works miracles. I know Wal-Mart has it in a tube or jar. |

OMG....lol! YOU were the one that posted about the Mini Dachshund being a kitchen appliance, lmao!! That sooo cracked me up and I DO remember it, I just couldn't remember who posted it....but it was YOU! :yelrotflm Sooo funny girl, hahaha!! Anyway, yep, that's Pip!!! LOL. And thanks for the compliments on her little swing video :D She just loves that darn thing!! :p |

Thank you again....I greatly appreciate it! :D |
Poor babies!!! Those darn things can be so tough to treat. I found this link and it was kind of good: Hot Spots: Acute Moist Dermatitis in Dogs I would think tea tree oil would sting bc it's so astringent, but I could be wrong :). I hope they get better soon! I wish I knew more about this, but I just don't. Aloe can be quite soothing and healing. And Peace and Kindness from Chris Christensen apparently works miracles on *all* skin issues, so I wonder if that would help the babies? Hugs to them :). |

I have put the Tea Tree Oil on them three times so far, and it doesn't seem to bother them that much (thank goodness!). Peaches may have squirmed a TINY bit the first time, but once I kept going with it, it actually seemed to soothe her  I am going to try this for maybe about a week or so, and if it doesn't seem to be clearing up any, then I will try the Aquaphor Healing Ointment that Yorkiedaze mentioned and also the Peace and Kindness that you just mentioned - I have never even heard of that before but it sounds GREAT! Thank you so much for your help girl...you are always there for me, and I appreciate it so much! |

How are Pippi and Peaches hot spots now? |
When Chachi had hot spots the vet gave me a medicated shampoo and cortisone spray |

Awww, thanks for asking about them girl  They are a little better now....still there, but not near as red as they were thank goodness  Also I think the Tea Tree Oil is soothing for them, at least it seems that way when I put it on them :) I am going to keep at it, twice a day for a while and see if they completely clear up - I sure hope so! :hands: |
