Does it makes sense to buy a baby scale? How many of you buy a baby scale? Keeping your furbaby at a healthy weight seems to be important. |

I have a mail scale that I used for Marcel - and for him it was imperative bc he was only 1.4 when I got him - so it was very helpful for me to make sure he was gaining. But now, I just go by feeling their ribs. :) |

I've put Sammy on my shipping scale before, but honestly it's not necessary. For dogs, feeling their ribs and body composition is more important than their actual weight. I know Loki is a little overweight and Sammy is a little skinny without weighing them. :D |

I have an antique kitchen scale that I use, and it seems to be fairly accurate...Lil' Miss Izzie had her year old shots today and she weighed in at roughly 7lbs 3 oz....give or take as she would not stay still long enough to get an accurate reading....Love my Lil Wiggle Butt.... :dogsm2: |

I use mine once a week, I'm not that good at knowing what feels like a healthy weight. When he was a puppy, I used them because I wanted to make sure he was gaining weight, and through an illness, scales can be helpful because you know if they are dehydrated. After Joey reached adulthood, I thought he looked good, but the vet said he needed to lose more than 9 ounces so the scales became useful in seeing that he was "gradually losing weight. I got my scales, at Bed Bath and Beyond, and I put a pail on the scale set it to zero and put Joey in the pail, but sometimes it hard to read the dial, as the pail is in the way, and I've never found the perfect container to put on top. Many people recommend the postal scales. |

When I use to breed bunnies weight was very important. You can find a inexpensive one at KW cages, I think the web site is www.KWcages.com |
