Stitches removed???? :aimeeyork Tink has to have her stitches removed on Monday 30th. She has six down her belly from being spayed. Four on each back ankle from dew claws removed. two on each front ankle from dew claws removed. I am worried sick. I keep saying to hubby you can take Tink on Monday! As she is still very much a puppy in the way she acts (she is 6mths). She jumps about, gets all all excited, will not sit still no matter what............so how they going to use a sharp scalpel to remove the stitches on her  |
Ellie had about 20 staples when she was spayed and two of them twisted. It was extremely painful for her but thankfully stitches shouldn't be nearly as bad.:) |

I am worried Tink, who is strong 7lb....is going to keep moving about that they will have a problem removing them. Just do not fancy this trip to the vets.:( |

They can have people restrain her if it is necessary. Only a few minutes and it's all over.:) |
Thanks for your replies Crystal. :) |
ok im a little confused here. my vet says his stitches come out on their own??? is this better or worse :confused: |

I thought they were going to give Tink the dissolvable stitches, which is what I think your vet might be talking about:confused: But Tinks stitches are very thick plastic like ones, so they need cutting and pulling out. :( |

I've had stitches removed, and couldn't even feel it. Staples are another matter, and can be very uncomfortable, but I wouldn't say painful, unless one of the staples is really irritated. Quote:
