Stomach or emotional? This is my second Yorkie; this one has some real health problems. She is very skittish. She has had a real problem with diarrhea, or loose stools. She has even has had blood, not bloody stool, but blood! I have her on some meds for her nerves, but this stomach thing never seems to go away. Have any of you experienced anything like this? One doctor thought it was separation anxiety, but she has had to stay with out me and done fine. Please help! |
It's a question I have to ask myself almost every month. My yorkie gets loose stool and is being treated now for it. She also vomits occasionally before the stool starts changing. She's not skittish but it seems that I can trace an episode back to a stressful event. Like when we dog sat for a week and now we have a new puppy that came a couple of months ago. She did grab some dry puppy food which also could have set it off, I don't ever know. This bout may have been a slow progression of a new treat that was added a small amount a day, but there was no initial reaction. Does yours vomit at all? How old is she? |
Hi and WELCOME! How old is this pup and how long has this been going on? Are all the stools this way? What is she eating exactly? Has the stool been tested 2-3 times for Giardia? What else has the stool been tested for? Has a thorough blood panel been performed? There are so many things that need to be ruled out before you just then focus on a hypoallergenic or raw diet - both of which can be life changing for dogs. But first, all of the health related possibilities need to be looked at. :) |
I don't know if I am in the right place or not?? Lily gets car sick!! Any suggestions?? I put her in a plastic crate type carrier in the car and she throws up every time we go anywhere...even just a mile down the road!! I am trying to get her used to going in a crate type carrier like this because I will be flying on an airplane with her at least 2-3 times a year and will be taking her with me in August for her first time. She will be 4 months old tomorrow. Thanks!! |
