Plumping up my dog Hey guys, Just curious.... how do I fatten up my yorkie lol.... I feed him twice a day. He always has a bowl of dry food and water available.... but it's still so skinny. He doesn't eat like some other dogs, indulging on loads of dog food but he DOES like human food, which I abstain him from. He hasn't been neutered and that might be a contributing factor, but to what degree? Does anyone else have this 'problem'? In social events, people always remark how 'skinny' he is and I'm scared he looks malnourished. I'm not trying to make him over weight but I do want him to get some more meat on his body. |
:aimeeyork Is he still a puppy? Puppies are usually on the thin side.:animal-paYou could ask your vet about putting him on a higher calorie diet. :animal-pa As long as he is playful, drinks water , and eats he should be fine. :aimeeyork They will put on more weight as they get older.:dogsm3: |
I have just started feeding satin balls to my little boy that needs some weight. They are for adding weight and picky eaters. I posted the recipe on another thread. |

No he is not a puppy, at least I think being 2 years old doesn't constitute as onen (in dog years) o_O? |

We were really worried about Teddy for a while. He was so skinny, we could feel his ribs and his spine. I took him to the vet, and she said not to worry, as long as he was eating, which he was. I just carried on, as usual, and he is starting to fill out now, and I think he looks good. He will be two in December, so maybe as they get older, they put on a little weight. |
