uugghhhh i feel awful ok so abby is being picky with her food again. as some of u no i give her wellness turkey w cottage cheese. but it seems she starting to get bored of that. so i gave her chicken just now n she doesnt want it. anyway i didnt put cheese n after 15-20 minutes she didnt really eat it. i threw it out n no she's gonna have to wait till next meal time. too bad for her but dam i feel awful |
How old is Abby? I have found that the older mine get the less they eat so maybe it isn't that she's picky but just growing. The puppies are all about 9 months old now and they don't eat near as much as they did when they were younger. |

help guys am i doing the right thing? |
Are you sure she doesn't have any symptoms after eating? Yorkies can be picky but I'm concerned about this long battle with food. Something doesn't seem right. Could you list all the foods you've tried besides Wellness? She won't eat canned? |

A 1/4 cup measuring cup is somewhere around an inch high and two inches across. I think I would do the bile acid test because food is such an issue. If that comes back clear I guess you will have to force feed or let her go hungry if she doesn't eat what you put down. I do not like this method (letting them go hungry) at all for puppies and if she is little there could be some risk to it (if she is prone to hypoglycemia or throwing up bile). Actually, if it were Ellie I would settle on a homecooked (or canned) food that I know she doesn't absolutely hate and blend it really small. This is especially important for homecooking because they will pick out what they don't like if you don't. Then I would force feed the mixture. This would have to be done very carefully though and you can avoid it if you want to go with the other method of refrigerating it and bringing it out every few hours and offering it. |
i wouldnt have thrown her food away at 5 months or any age. when shes hungry, she will eat.. just my opinion.. i would never do that |

I make a major deal of this meal time too!! I call this "din din" and she knows when I am getting it for her...and she gets so excited. Then as I give it to her I always say "din din" so now I guess she thinks it's special too! LOL She also had a dry kibble available all day and some days she eats it and some days she does not.... Good luck...I know it's frustrating.... |
1 Attachment(s) waaaatt :eek: omg my poor abby. i have been giving her more than one inch up n 2 inches across of food a day. oh man i feel bad. this 1/4 is supposed to be all day???? good lorddd i must give her that or a lil more each time!!!! god i feel awfullllll. i drew a TERRIBLE sketch forgive me Attachment 224504 this is a terrible sketch (once again i apologize) but this is about how much food i give her each serving (maybe a little more). wen i home i will take pics of the actual bowl n food lol. i cant believe this is all they shud eat alllll day!!:eek: well thanks guys i feel alotttt better. she def eats more than that in one day. PHEWWWWW  |
Yes, 1/4 cup is maybe slightly less than inch high and two inches across I would say. She should eat more wet food than if she ate dry. A can of pop is 12 ounces. A cup is 8 fluid ounces. So a can of pop is 1 and 1/2 cups. So 1/4 cup is 1/6 of a can of pop. Make sense? This could be different for dry measure though. |
