How do you know if baby is eating?? I come home and a little food may be gone. I cannot tell how much Ace is really eating. I use Innova puppy dry kibble during the day and give him Innova puppy canned once in the evening. He will eat a few bites and then done. I am pretty sure we are close to almost 2 lbs. at 12 weeks. He was 1.4 at last vet visit. We go again on the 25th. Is it just that he is little so he doesn't really need that much? He feels solid and does not look thin at all. It is hard to imagine that what he is eating is enough. But-I keep thinking how small his tummy really is. Hmmmm....... |
If Ace is an only puppy, count the # of kibbles you put in his bowl in the morning and then recount them in the afternoon. Even though you can't be positive that he ate the missing kibble, it would give you a place to start. If he is active, and is peeing and pooping then he must be eating. Some dogs are don't like to be watched when they are eating .... I call them "closet eaters". |
You can measure the amount of food you put in the bowl each morning..Like 1/4 cup or whatever you feed. Then measure again at night. |
When Cassie was on kibble I would count the kibble I put in her bowl in the morning and then I would count again the next morning to see what she ate in 24 hours. She sleeps in her bed in a play pen, so I know if the kibble is gone it went into her tummy. |
