Puppy with Loose stool I have a litter of 7 pups and I keep them in the xpen, to keep them in for safety, anyhoo, one of the pups have a loose stool, I was feeding them raw dehydrated food, and thought maybe the food was too rich, so I put them on the dry, its not every day, just here and there. So I have been giving yogart, and a little bit of pumpkin. None of the pups are lethgartic, or feeling poorly, all are busy playing and mauling each other... When should I be concerned? Not to be gross but there is no blood or worms or anything.... |
anyone? |
I don't think raw dehydrated would be any richer than other food - in fact, dry puppy food is usually higher in fat - so, I'd compare ingredients first. Also, how old are the pups? I guess, yes, I'd be concerned if a puppy had loose stool bc they're so vulnerable when puppies - even if still playful. Also, if I were you - I'd post your question in the breeder section and see what they have to say. |
I recommend having to vet check the stools of the pups to rule out coccidia. |
thank you guys, the pups are 9 weeks old. Today there has been only 1 semi soft stool, I will make an appointment as soon as possible. |
I hope your pup will be ok. :aimeeyork |
Well so far knock on wood no soft stools! But I am certainly not taking any chances i would rather be overly proctective than not! Thank you for those who took the time to try and help! I appreciate it! |
