Evo small bites??? 2 Attachment(s) I plan on breeding dogs in the future...when I feel as though I am ready to take on such a challenge:) But I wanted to find a good quality food and came across EVO small bites which I hear is a great food but wanted to know what you guys think of it? Also dou you recommend EVO small bites regular or EVO small bites red meat? I have read the ingredients and they are pretty darn impressive:D |
I've heard wonderful things about Evo! I think it'd be a great food for nursing mothers and/or pups. Just make sure none of your Yorkies are liver compromised as it is extremely high in protein. :) |
I used to use EVO small bites. I have switched to Innova small bites (same company) because the protein content is lower. |
Yeah, any of the Innova products are great, but I feed my two kids Innova Small bites (regular not EVO) because there is less protein which is better for smaller dogs. |
Higher protein has nothing to do with being better/worse for "smaller" dogs. Higher protein is only a concern for dogs with compromised livers/kidney/pancreas. One concern w/ EVO vs. regular Innova is that EVO is higher in fat (in comparison to other higher protein kibbles). Anecdotally, it seems that it's the fat that often is causing problems in some dogs on EVO (bc as soon as you switch them to another higher protein kibble, but standard fat content - they're fine). Puppies do generally need a bit more fat than adults - but this is a difference to be aware of, as there have been problems. |
