Excuse my language, but does your Yorkie FART alot?! Our new little baby, Sadie Rose, is almost 15 weeks old now. She eats only Wellness puppy food and a few LiverBites for training treats during the day. She passes gas A LOT:10-12 times per day (that i notice!) and it smells very bad! We had a Sheltie for almost 12 yrs before, and I don't remember anything other than the occasional gassiness. Is this the sign of a problem, or am I being ridiculous?? Wendy-Lee |
I wish I had a answer for you... but I dont have this problem... maybe its the food? maybe it just doesnt agree with her tummy? good luck I hope someone can give you some advice. but maybe you just need to take her to the vet??? |
My puppy is 15 weeks and he doesn't fart at all But he did fart when he was eating purina that his breeder sent, after I made the switch he became fart free. I agree with blueeyes_jd maybe its the food? |
You know how you also posted in the other thread about the foot-chewing? Well, this GAS makes me think even MORE that there may be yeast. Because yeast is notorious for going crazy in the intestine - multiplying and causing digestive issues in the entire tract. Certainly, it could be the food - but given she is so young - and therefore, should not yet have any allergies - you really should get this dog checked for yeast, SOON. |
Mine don't do that... but when Sebastian came home on Royal Canine kibble, he sure burped a lot .... |
That's a good indicator for switching food brands. All animals pass gas, but if it seems excessive, it's the food. Poorly digestible ingredients, quality of ingredients, or sensitivity to something in it possibly. It the gas is really foul, the food could be spoiled/rancid. I'd stop feeding it and try something else. |
you could try some activia yogurt. |
My puppy is almost 13 weeks old and I don't notice any excessive flatuence from him in the four weeks I've had him. He's on Royal Canine food. |
I've used the liver treats before but not several per day. Liver treats can be very rich so that could be a cause. I've got some pups now and I'm using Cheerios for a training aid. |
Ralphie started doing this a couple of weeks after I brought him home. The vet said that it could be the Giardia that he had (an intestinal parasite). He actually farted audibly at the vets office once. Me and the vet tech were laughing our butts off. I had NEVER heard a dog fart where you could actually hear it :D Once he was free of the Giardia he never did it again thank God...my boyfriend couldn't take it anymore. |
