Wellness CORE So.. I went out and bought Wellness Just for Puppy and Wellness CORE today for Franklin and Maggie. The Solid Gold just did not work out for us and I am super excited to switch! Maybe food #3 will be a charm. I have done a little research on this and don't think it will be a problem but Wellness Core is so high in protein! 34%! I really like it because it's basically the kibble equivalent of feeding raw (if that even makes sense) and that's as close as my boyfriend will let me get. I know that Wellness does make lower protein kibble (Super5Mix) if needed but does anybody have experience feeding Core? How did your babies do on it? Were there any noticeable improvements in their health? What about sickness or nausea? |
Oh, I hope the 3rd time IS a charm! I'm actually a fan of Wellness - not bc I've used it, but bc of the ingredients. Almost ALL allergy foods for dogs are too LOW in protein, which is truly not good for a canine - Core is one of the few foods a person could use as an "allergy" food, but maintain a proper protein level. And, actually - it's more of a "medium" protein rather than higher protein kibble. It's just really pretty darn great, as far as kibbles go. :D |

I have some samples of the core that I've been mixing with the Super5Mix. The monkeys have been on Wellness for years and it works great for Simon's sensitive tummy and it's great for me since I can feed them both the same food :) |
Good to know! :) I put some of it in Maggie's food today and she ate all the Wellness pieces, but none of the Solid Gold. So much for a slow transition huh? |
