burping up after eating/drinking, but not all the time? okay, so i was wondering if it's normal for Kash to burp up his food/water after eating or drinking too fast, and then immediately playing, jumping up & down, running, etc... it's only a very tiny amount that comes back up, and it's usually right after he's eaten/drank and starts playing. that's why i'm saying "burping up" instead of "throwing up" because he makes a burp sound, and out comes a very small amount of food or water. i guess it's kind of like a skinbaby would burp up milk after feeding time?? and i don't think he's really "throwing up" because it's never a continuous motion or a large amount of food/water, and he's not acting sick. he just goes about his business like nothing happened. i just want to make sure i'm not ignoring a more serious problem. but i also don't want to jump to conclusions and spend money when i don't have to. thanks! |
I don't know whether they're supposed to do it, but my dog does the same thing (mostly just with water, though). It doesn't seem to bother him at all. |
Sounds like he's regurgitating (which is NOT the same as vomiting) and it could simply be because he's eating and drinking too quickly — both my two have done that from time to time. Maybe just keep an eye on it, but I don't imagine it's anything to worry about. You could do a search on google for ideas to help your dog eat slower. I've heard about placing rocks in their food bowl so they have to navigate around them to get the food - slows them down a bit, but obviously the rocks have to be big enough that they cant be confused for food and accidentally swallowed. I'm sure someone else will have some great ideas too! |

i find burping normal... it's when food or water comes out with the burp that has me questioning it's normalcy. :rolleyes: |
