Am I the only one????? I either have a very picky yorkie or just ones that doesn't like food. I am so frustrated that I just don't know what else to do. I have now tried Canidae and Innova and she just refuses to eat. I have mixed canned with kibble and have also mixed in Science Diet (the breeder had her on it) but she will not eat it. I basically have to force food down her. She will walk over to the food sniff it and walk away. She is eating some just not enough. Have any of you been through this? I really need some help. I gave her some Nutrical today and she licked that right up. What am I doing wrong? Please HELP! |
Mine refused to eat Wellness, so I switched to Canidae and he'll eat that. He doesn't eat much either though. The vet said it was normal because he's so small. |
How old is she and how long have you had her? have you tried human food, boiled chicken, cottage sheese, boiled eggs? If you just got her she migh just be upset. Try some of the above, and don't worry as long as she is drinking. You can add some karo syrup to her water to make sure she does not get hypoglycemia. |
I have had her a little over 2 weeks. She is 14 weeks old. She does drink well. |
does she seem alert and playful, or is she listless? If she seems OK and is peeing and pooping then i would not worry. try not to cater to her or make a big deal ot of it or some bad habits can develop. |
Thank you so much for your responses. She is peeing and pooping good. I guess I will just keep making the food and hopefully eventually she will eat. She is playful and does take naps often. Although she does not sleep much at night she likes to stay up barking and whining. She is ecstatic when we check on her to make sure she is ok. I think she is just a bit spoiled!:D |

When they are a puppy, they eat in small portions but more frequent. I feed mine 4 times a day in small portions until he is 6 months old. Definitely try putting in some food that JeanieK have suggested. They are good for a pup. |
